Data processed on pages

The extension reads supported timestamp elements and limited associated page data to identify and display dates. It does not infer a date by counting backwards from relative text. Processing happens in the browser, and unsupported or uncertain cases remain unchanged.

Facebook support examines selected loaded page payloads while processing is enabled. It keeps only bounded associations between opaque tracking tokens and timestamps in document memory. It does not retain response bodies, post content, authors, or account data in logs, and discards the associations when processing stops.

Bluesky public lookups

For supported public Bluesky posts, No More Ago sends public actor and post identifiers to https://public.api.bsky.app to retrieve a server-observed timestamp. Requests are anonymous and credential-free: they do not include cookies, account tokens, authorization headers, settings, or post text. The connection still exposes ordinary network information, such as your IP address, to that service.

Successful results remain temporarily in document memory while relevant page elements are connected. Disable No More Ago on bsky.app, disable it globally, or close the page to stop this processing and discard that state.

Local settings and optional diagnostics

Browser-local extension storage holds the enabled state, site lists, date and time-zone preferences, appearance, and a recovery copy of settings. No developer service synchronizes this data.

Diagnostics are off by default. If enabled, a sanitized technical journal may include relevant hostnames, browser and extension versions, adapter identifiers, counts, and error categories. It is capped at 5,000,000 bytes. You can clear or download it; disabling diagnostics removes the stored logs. Downloading never uploads the file.

Support reports

“Report this site” opens GitHub with a prefilled issue form. Its URL may include the current page URL, browser, reason, and extension version. Opening the form sends those URL parameters to GitHub; submitting is a separate action you control. Review the form and remove private URLs or details before posting.

Why the extension needs permissions

Website access

Inspects eligible timestamps on HTTP and HTTPS pages and restores labels when processing is disabled.

Scripting

Runs the timestamp processor in eligible documents and refreshes open pages when settings change.

Navigation

Finds reachable frames so a settings change can be applied throughout the current tab.

Storage

Keeps settings, their recovery copy, and optional diagnostic logs locally.

Limited use and contact

Information received from browser APIs is used only for timestamp functionality and user-requested support features. It is not used or transferred for advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes.
