  • ✓ Free & open source
  • ✓ No account
  • ✓ No analytics
  • ✓ No network requests
Before: Upgrade and Ask Gemini buttons take up space in the Google header. After: both buttons are hidden and neighboring controls close the gap.
A stylized before-and-after view: the extension hides the upsell controls and leaves no empty gap.

Supported products

One clean header. Three Google products.

Gmail

Keep the mail header focused on the tools you actually use.

Google Drive

Remove the upsell while browsing and organizing your files.

Google Docs

Works in Docs, Sheets, Slides, and their home screens.

Your choice

Hide either button — or both.

Two simple toggles in the extension popup let you control each button independently. Both are on by default, and changes apply live to open tabs.

Hide the Upgrade button

Removes the persistent subscription upsell.

Hide the Ask Gemini button

Removes the neighboring AI promotion.

Private by design

Your browsing stays in your browser.

The extension has no server and makes no network requests. It inspects only the header controls it needs to hide, in memory, and never reads your email, files, or document contents.

No analytics or telemetry

No tracking or advertising

No personal data collection

No remote code or network requests

Questions

Frequently asked

What exactly does Hide Upgrade Button remove?

It hides the Upgrade subscription button and the Ask Gemini button in Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Docs. Each can be enabled or disabled separately.

Does the extension read my email, files, or documents?

No. It looks only at toolbar controls in supported page headers. Nothing is recorded or transmitted, and there is no server to receive data.

Why does it need access to Google sites?

That access lets its content script run only on Gmail, Drive, and Docs, where it finds and hides the selected buttons. It cannot run on other sites.

What happens if Google changes its interface?

The extension fails safely: if a match is ambiguous, it leaves the page unchanged. If a button comes back, report it in GitHub Issues and an extension update can restore hiding.

A quieter Google header is one click away.

Install the free extension, keep both toggles on, and get back the space used by Upgrade and Ask Gemini.
